I believe life is too short to eat bad food. Whether that be pre-packaged food or food that you simply don’t enjoy.
Despite this diet-obsessed world of today, I truly believe in eating whatever you want, in moderation. If you feel like indulging in a piece of chocolate cake, do it! If you crave a crunchy healthy salad, eat it. No judgement, no guilt. Well, not with me anyway!
I believe food, while fuel for our body, is a magical thing. It has the ability to change and elevate moods and it has the ability to bring people together in a truly wonderful way.
So what is my food philosophy? I’m all about good wholesome home cooked food. I love cooking food from scratch. It soothes me in a way nothing else can. I love seeing a pile of ingredients turn into something else as I truly believe there is magic in cooking.
So, at Delicious Everyday, my aim is to share with you my genuine love and passion for not only food but the act and art of cooking.
While I’m not formally trained I’ve been passionate about food for as long as I can remember. The first time I knew I was obsessed with food was when, as a young girl, I’d pester Mum to find out what she was making for dinner just after we’d eaten lunch. It wasn’t about gluttony, I was simply excited about what we might be having for dinner that night.
My love of food grew and expanded when at 16 I became a fully fledged vegetarian. Never having liked meat, it was an easy transition to make. And that is really what lead me into cooking. My family all ate meat, so if I wanted to eat something other than side dishes, I needed to step into the kitchen and take an active role in what I was eating and the preparation of it.
23 years later I’m still a vegetarian, and still as passionate about food. In fact, more so. I love showing people how interesting, not to mention delicious, vegetarian food can be. And that it’s not all about rabbit food and tofu!
Joining me on my journey is my wonderful husband Troy. He is more supportive than I could possibly dream of, and despite being a carnivore, raves to his friends about my food. So much so that I jokingly refer to him as my PR agent!
So what can you expect from Delicious Everyday?
On Delicious Everyday you’ll find recipes that are vegetarian, sometimes vegan and occasionally gluten free.
I like to focus on fresh whole foods, so if you are looking for a way to use up that box of cake mix, I’m sorry, this isn’t the place for you. I guide the everyday home cook – like me – to create delicious vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free meals with practical and approachable recipes.
And if you are looking to keep up with the latest food trends, I’m sorry, I’m probably going to disappoint you in that area too. I don’t share recipes simply because they are popular or trendy. If I don’t genuinely enjoy what I’m eating then a recipe for it won’t appear on the blog.

A little about me
Tasmanian born and bred, I now live in the land of perpetual sunshine, and meltingly hot summers, in Brisbane, Australia. My name, as you might have gathered already, is Jennifer and I live with my husband Troy.
I’ve had a few different careers over my lifetime – there was that time I was an accountant at a big 6 firm, then I moved into IT, where I stayed for a long time (technology is my other passion), before finally following my dream of working with food.
Last year, in an unusual bout of courage (I’m not the most confident person) I started my freelance food photography, food styling and recipe development business. You can check out my portfolio here. Since then I’ve worked with some amazing businesses, to help create their vision with food. I love what I do, and I love the boundless energy and enthusiasm that comes with truly doing something you are passionate about.
So, what else can I tell you about me? I’m quiet until you get to know me. I’m obsessed with shoes and I love good quality dark chocolate and the odd glass of champagne. Oh, and I collect cookbooks. I have more than I could possibly ever read in 2 lifetimes, but I love them all very dearly and am always looking for new babies to add to my collection!
